2 Years Layout

On
Wednesday 23 November 2016

Hello! Today I'm sharing this layout I made recently to celebrate my little Pip's 2nd birthday. I knew I wanted to use that '2' card which came in an old Messy Box, and so I worked my layout around that 3x3 card. I tried to experiment with lots of colour and texture and I quite like how it turned out. It did take me longer than usual to put together though, but I think this is because I used many different items from my supplies and tried to tie them all together through coordinating colours. I definitely think I will experiment with the 3x3 size more often!

Yum Layout Feat. Sahin Designs

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a recent layout I made using the new set, Gather, released by Sahin Designs. I had so much fun putting this together and I've completely fallen in love with circles and my Fiskar's hole punch. I decided to use the enamel dots that came in the Gossamer Blue September kit and some pink tissue paper circles from a very old Messy Box. And, of course, it wouldn't be complete without some gold glittery alphabet stickers! I think I may have to use tissue paper for layouts more often...

If you'd like to check out the Gather collection, you can find it on Elif's store here.

Four Years

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a layout I made using my new Fiskar's hole punch. I have to say, I absolutely love this punch and cannot recommend it enough - how I made layouts before, without circles, is beyond me! I'm planning on doing a review of it soon so keep an eye out for that.
In this month's Quirky Kit, we received a lot of papers from the Indigo Hills collection by Pinkfresh Studio which has a lot of light pinks, indigo and mustard hues. I particularly loved the pink paper with the flowers on and knew I wanted to use that as a base for my layout. I didn't start this with an intention of being an anniversary layout, it just kinda happened, and I do really like it. I particularly love the pop of yellow in the corner from a Maggie Holmes paper I had - I just wish I had some more yellow embellishments to balance it out a little. Of course, I used my white alphabets and my gold embellishments - my absolute go-tos but I also experimented with that wood pattern paper from a paper pad I had too that I'd never used before.

Hexagon 'Love' Layout

Saturday 24 September 2016

Hello! Today I'm sharing something I recently created using the Gossamer Blue September Kit.. I mentioned in that post that I loved the hexagon wood pieces so I decided to use them as templates to cut different pieces of paper and photos which I had left over. It was so fun to create, I've never made a spread like this before, and I really am pleased with how it turned out.

Hey Little Magpie Craft Haul

On
Wednesday 14 September 2016

I have another month left until I head back to university to start my masters - scary stuff. In the meantime, I've been occupying myself with Project Life and scrapbooking projects. I've decided that this year I'm going to try to do my first ever December Daily album, documenting my December up until the 25th. As such, when I bought some supplies from Hey Little Magpie, many of them were bought with the intention of being used in my Christmas album (hence all the sparkle and gold). I thought the pieces were so cute, and I was so excited to receive it in the mail, that I just had to share what I bought here.

Since starting Project Life last year, I've found that many of the larger scrapbook/Project Life companies are based in the US and without paying ridiculous shipping fees, the only other way to order supplies is online. Subsequently, sometimes things are larger/smaller than they appear online or may be completely different to what they appear on the web. I found this to be true with my Freckled Fawn glitter chipboard pieces which I thought were much smaller than what they turned out to be (not a problem, I actually love the larger sizes), and with my My Mind’s Eye puffy stickers which I thought – and wish – were a bit bigger. Oh well.

What I bought: My Mind’s Eye Hooray Puffy Stickers, Freckled Fawn Chipboard Glitter Hearts, Freckled Fawn Chipboard Glitter Stars, Freckled Fawn Wooden Words Pieces, Freckled Fawn Wooden Camera Pieces, American Crafts Gold Glitter Alphabet Thickers

A Small Craftie Charlie Haul

On
Thursday 1 September 2016

I've been loving mini albums this month and so I decided to pick one up for myself. I decided to go for the mint We R Memory Keepers instagram album which I'm hoping to turn into a travel photo album. The shop I bought from, Craftie Charlie, also had a sale on and so I added the Teresa Collins chipboard stickers and buttons to my basket too. I hadn't seen these before, but I love chipboard and the pieces themselves looked rather pretty online. Now that they've arrived, I was a little surprised to find that they all have holes cut out to use as buttons. I'm not sure how I will use these, maybe just as standard chipboard stickers, but I do like the idea of incorporating my stitching into my Project Life/scrapbook pages. I also bought a set of washi tapes by Reset Girl, which are beautifully designed, but are very small - smaller than any other washi tape I own - and you don't get much on a roll!
